ROB BENNIC
Rob Bennic aka “Prince of pound, king of heavy artillery“ started playing the drums at the age of 7 when tutored by a Sydney session player.
Throughout his school days in Tamworth, he played in marching bands, school rock and concert bands. In his late teen years, Rob played in bands in the Tamworth area with mates and the odd fill-in gig.
After going on a traveling hiatus for a number of years Rob got the kit out again and got back into practicing chops. Soon he formed the band “Shift” with the talented Allison Forbes and local guitarist Mark Pauling playing rock cover gigs all over the northwest.
Venturing into a more bluesy country feel, Sally Ann Whitten and Rob formed “*10#”. Members included Steve McCauley and Trev Stacey, gigging the northwest festivals and B&S‘s.
Col Finley was on the hunt for a drummer at the time and Rob took on that role, traveling Australia and the USA playing festivals, etc.
After a number of years of playing he decided to pull back on the travel and with local mate and future fellow Redneck, Bassist John Lee formed “Crazytrain” with Stuey Larkham on guitar playing heavy 70/80s rock covers having a great following and still going after 10 years .
Rob, John Lee and mate Jared Scott formed “Redneck Gentlemen” and gave their twist ‘n feel to the country that they like and the journey is still continuing!!!!
